I hand spin and dye yarns in small quantities. Each one is unique. There are no repeats.
This yarn has been spun using a Mulberry (Bombyx) silk brick. Silk bricks are a high quality of silk, and have natural slubs that add a bit of texture to the silk yarn.

The silk yarn may be gently washed in cool water and hung to dry naturally.

The plant dyed silk yarns are packaged in an organza mesh bag that can be re-used.
I hand dye yarns every day. Please visit my website for the latest full colour selection. https://paivatar.com

The natural dyes are created using plants, leaves, flowers, tree barks and minerals that have been used and tested through the ages. Naturally dyed colours fade gently yet remain beautiful.
Some of the dye plants that I use to create the many shades of the rainbow are:
Reds: Madder root, Brazilwood, Cochineal
Yellows: Weld, Fustic, Dyers Greenwood, Flame of the Forest
Blues: Indigo, Woad, Japanese Indigo
Purples and Greys: Alkanet, Logwood
